I'm planning an AC/MFK Meet that will consist of several different activities like canoeing, kayaking, fishing, camping, shopping, and maybe some offroad trail riding for people that have 4x4 or fourwheelers they can bring. We can also take a tour at the Jack Daniels Distillery if people are interested.

First off, all of this will take place in Lewisburg, TN. Lewisburg is located 1 hr south of Nashville just off of I-65. I plan on doing a lot of grilling out for everyone who comes so a lot of the food will be provided by myself.

I would love to make this a 3 day(weekend) event so we can squeeze in all the activities I would like for us to do. Camping may be an option if this does become a weekend get away for some of the out of state folks. There are also plenty of nice hotels located just off of I-65 if you like a nice warm bed.

For the ladies interested, my wonderful wife will also be accompaning us on this meet. She will be right there with us canoeing, fishing, and what not. But if some of the ladies would like to venture off and do a little shopping then my wife would love to take you to several of the nice shopping malls we have nearby. Please bring your spouses, they are welcomed too and there will be plenty going on to keep everyone pleased with this get together.

I would like for this Meet to take place anytime between May and July.

All I need from you guys is a little info on when and what you would like to do. From the activities I listed please post what you are willing to participate in and how many people you think you will bring including yourself.

So far I've had a good response from MFK members!

It's looking like the middle or end of July might be the best time, but it is still early though.

Please remember, all spouses are welcome, there will be plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained!!!


Also, please help me spread the word to other ACers and MFKers that you think might be interested. I need to get this thing planned out soon but I need info from you folks on the best times that you can attend before I make the final schedule for the Meet.

Gotta love the ole Ramcharger! We might have to start a "new set of tires" fund for my old truck! I get stuck on wet grass right now, LOL.


So far the date you posted is looking like the best for the majority of the people. I will announce the date in April followed by a schedule of activities we will be doing.

BTW, anyone wanting to visit the JD Distillery, please PM me if you think you will want to purchase bottles while we are there. They do not sell it on Sundays, so I will have to plan the tour sometime Saturday if you want some good ol' JD straight from the Distillery.

Guys/gals I am very sorry for not keeping everyone up to date. I've been slammed at work, going to weddings, blah, blah, blah, you know how it is this time of year!



July 25-26 is set in stone, so keep your calendar open that weekend!!! As far as a list of activities, I know we will be canoeing/fishing Saturday(25th) morning and I think we will just vote amongst all who show up on what other activities you guys/gals wanna do for the rest of the weekend. I WILL send out a reminder to everyone with the date and a list of all local activities I think you all will be interested in.


Please reply to your PM if you CAN make it. I will have them sent out no later than next weekend(JULY 11th), I PROMISE!!!

OK FOLKS.... the date is getting close!!!


I need everyone who can attend to send me a PM with when you can make it down, up, or over to meet us and how many people you will be bringing and how long you can stay.


The date is JULY 25-26. We will be meeting at RIVER RATS Canoe Rental in Columbia, TN @ 8:00 in the morning on the 25th. I plan on being on the water no later than 9:00 so DON'T BE LATE!!!

Afterwards, when we get off the water around lunch time, we will hit up the local BBQ joint and enjoy some great tasting food! Then I would like to take everyone to the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, TN. It is about a 45 minute drive from the BBQ joint so we can definitely do some carpooling to help save some gas.

After that, there are two things we can do..... the Annual Truck and Tractor Pull will be in town, which I really enjoy seeing, these are not farm tractors and pickup trucks, these are the BIG BOYS!!! Jet engines, monster alcohol burning engines, you name it! The admission is kinda expensive but worth it I think. Or...... we can go back to my house and rest up and then I can grill out for supper.

For the ones wanting to camp out, I will offer my property to do so or there is a local state park(Henry Horton State Park) that have some very nice campsites which is only about 15 minutes from my house and the Canoe Rental. If you decide not to camp out, there are several nice Hotels just off of I-65 which is also very close to where we will be canoeing.

Now, for Sunday, I would like to make this day just for you guys, we can discuss what we all want to do that day, whether it's canoeing again, fishing, etc. There are plenty of other local activities we can do if no one wants to canoe a second day. But like I said, we can talk about it once we all meet up.

Again please PM me ASAP if you are coming, along with when you can meet us and how many people you will be bringing. I have to reserve the Canoes so I need a rough head count.
