thought i'd post this in plants. the sword up on the pvc, closer to the light is a monster. been thinking about swapping it with the lower scrawnier one. i havent even given it any fertilizer tabs in a while. i have 3 floridae flagfish in doing a little cleanup on the plants. the big leaves also provide a favorite hiding spot for a small salvini. he's the dark blob.

there are 2 butts showing. one is the fahaka, and the other is a red tail black shark. i put the shark in cause i thought maybe it would get eaten, but they are friends.

the plant on the far left is fake. and theres a few strands of anachris floating.

this is my 20g long tank.
these are my healthiest swords. they are half the size of the monsters in the 75g. and they are growing in pool filter sand substrate. the tank is swarming with snails but the snail dont eat the swords for some reason.
all three of these were spiders off a plant i bought maybe 6 months ago. i might move the big one but i am afraid the root systems are all intertwined.

the floating plant is parrots feather [ at least thats what the lady at work calls it] the fish in front is a curvicep and there is an oto visible on a leaf to the right. there is also a small peacock eel, a peru puffer, and temporarily, a small gold sevrum in this tank.

at last but most disgustingly least. my gross-est clump of swords. this is in my 125g. its a 20" deep tank but the plants are raised up 7 inches so its only 13 inches from the lights. the main lights are a $6.99 walmart dual bulb 4 foot flourescent. one is a home depot aquarium and plant bulb. the other is the bulb that came with the 4 foot light on the 75g tank.

they look quite pathetic but a few brave leaves stick up without algea on them. not sure if i should put them out of there misery or is there a way to wipe out this algea? i have 2 chinese algea eaters in this tank who are much more worried about a turf war then they are about keeping things clean.

very nice pictures mate, i'm having a similar battel against algea, so far the best approach seems to be to remove as much of the infected areas as possible.
