I got some plants and got some snails with them.

1- What kind of fish would eat the snails without eating my beloved fancy guppies?

2- Also what do I need to do not to get the infestation?

3- Is there a way to kill the snails without damaging the plants befor eputting the plants in the tank?

thanks,

Most botias and loaches will eat snails, and few will bother the guppies much. Snails only get out of control when there is enough food to do so. If you feed appropriate amounts to teh fish and clean the tank regularly, they should never be a problem.

Sturdy leaved plants like anubias, crypts, wisteria, rotala, pennywort, and java ferns can be dipped in a mild bleach solution. For fine leaved plants like cambomba, this can cause damage, so a good examination should be done. Snails eggs are pretty easy to identify and remove, if you're careful. I like snails--they are good puffer food, and cleaners. I've never had a problem with them eating healthy plants.
