I just moved all my fish from my 40 gallon tank into thier new 72 gallon Bow Front :D

I have a large air pump powering two airstones in the tank although I wondered if a powerhead would do it, if so what size should I get - how many gph?

I use two air stones inside risers and suplement it with 2 -2 hour a day runs of a 170gph power head...

Seems to work fine for me...

Personally I wouldn't use a power head by it's self, keep the air stones no matter what you decide....

edit:

Angels may not like a strong current that a powerhead may provide...

I use a powerhead by itself in my tanks. I just use them for flow though. Basically, the more oxygen in the water, the better, but just make sure your fish will like the current.

where in IN are you located? Im in Fort Wayne. I have lots of African cichlid fry. If your looking for any, just send me an email or pm. Im selling them for cheap if bought in higher quantities.

use a powerhead and an airpump, if you have underground filter use a powerhead on one tube and airstone on the other.
if you dont use UGF then use both cause you have a big tank anyways and the more oxygen in the tank the better.

my brother got a powerhead in his 55g in addition to fluval with biowheel pro 60s inline. in my tank i got an air pump and a fluval 304 and bravo 200 HOB filter.
