Do you know how old / how long the pH controller has been in use?
And, what conditions it was used under? (under a stand with a sump and plenty of moisture, in the open air / normal ambient moisture, etc.)
Do you know the last time the pH probe was replaced?
Any corrosion on the fittings where the connections are made to the main unit? It looks pretty clean in the picture, but I'm asking just to be sure.

I just got the tank and this was a part of the equipment that came with it. I am the 3rd owner of the tank. The 1st owner had it 1 year. The 2nd owner had it just over 1 year and never used it. He didn't know what it was for. He had 4 oscars in the tank and that was it. There wasn't a sump ever used with the tank. The controller itself and the connections are like new. The probe has a little bit of dirt on the outside of it and that is all. We have had our ph checked before and we tried it in a glass of water and it read the same as previously tested. That's about all I know.
