ok so i think ive finally cemented in what im gonna get for my 55g tang

x - multi's (colony)
4 julidochromis marlieri
4 neolamprologus lelupi
2 eretmodus cyanostictus
1-2 Neolamprologus caudopunctatus

posibly up to 6 on the lelupis and the marlieri tho. im not sure. suggestions???

leleupi or juli, not both, they dont' like conspecifics. Also, go with 6 of either, then wait for a pair to form and get rid of the rest, they're not colonial species. And get rid of the caudo, it will most likely be killed. Of course, while we're on it, you know leleupi are notorious for pulling multies out of their shells and killing them, right...

what would kill the caudo? and ive been talking about lelupis with my multies for a long time now so how come no1 has said anything about them getting killed before???/

OK i have all of the specimens you are talking about but in different setups.. In my 120gal but be mindful has a lot of areas for escaping Julido's, Lelupi and caudopunct's and well to put it plain and simple i have a pair of Caudopunct's that have paired off and is guarding a 10" x 10" shell field and is chasing full grown Lelupi away..

OK as for your question for a 55gal i would stick with the Julido's instead of the Lelupi's and i would bump up the Caudopunct's to 6 or 7 if you must have a Lelupi i would only do one and it would be the smallest specimen i could get a hold of..

I have 7 Caudopunct's in my 120gal and for the most part are left alone with the 2 that paired off being more aggressive in that i believe they are getting ready to spawn..

But all in all i think that list with out the Lelupi will work and like i said before if you must have a Lelupi i would only do one.. he will fight with the Julido's..

Don't add it. I was going to add one or two to a 180g tang community and was told they get aggressive as they get older and would more than likely tear apart the tank. Also, try to find an all black one. In breeding display, they probably are black. Most days they're a drab brown. Plus, you have 15 fish listed plus a colony of multies. I assume you want to get down to a pair of julies and a pair of caudos, but WOW, thats a lot of fish to start with. IMO at the very least, lose the leleupi and v. moori and and see what pairs form.

ok that will work i guess. im a lil short on cash anyway....
