Selecting Nova Extreme SLR T5 for 36g

The new 36 gallon Aqueon bowfront is going to be set up here at home as tank number 3 (:headshake2:)

Length = approx. 30 inches
Width = approx. 11 inches

It will be a Kasai and Zaire (Congo) deeper water biotope tank, and needs minimal lighting; no plans for plants, only driftwood, rocks and a sand substrate.

This tank will not have a canopy, but will have glass versas. I need a clamp style lighting unit for the tank and was looking at the Nova Extreme SLR T5 fixtures. One of the 48 W units should be fine to discourage growth of algae (low light conditions)

Since I am planning on using the docking legs (adjustable???) provided, I have to choose between the 30" by 5.5" or the 24" by 5.5"

Does anyone know which of these will provide a better fit? Specifically, will the 30" unit fit using the docking legs provided? Thanks.
 
If you are talking about the lwgs that come with the light to prop it up higher, the 30" light will work fine. The legs sleip into grooves in the fixture and can slide around. The legs come with screws so that you can affix it to the light and prevent movement via screw/fixture friction.

me thinks you should be fine since i have a 48" unit on my 72 gal bowfront.

if ya run into alge issues, just turn down the duration of time the light is on a day, that should help solve the problem. I havent dealt with coralife as Riiz suggested, i use Current USA just because most tank i see have Current fixtures on them, plus i lie the styling of them, plus they use standard t5's for the most part. But like i said, not to familiar with corlife's in depth, just from what i researched before buying my light.
