i have 3.1 wpg and right now, DIY co2. Long story short, regulator broke the other day and my tank was fully lit with no co2 for 2-3 days straight. As you can imagine i had a good amount of algae take over.

Now that I am getting 30 ppm, will the co2 and balanced ferts actually kill off the algae by themselves? Will I have to manually try to scrape it off everything? Im hoping the algae just gets killed off!!

What kind of algae is it? How bad is it, any pics? Can you try to treat with 2x excel for a few days? Some algeas may need to be physically removed so it doesn't choke out the plants.

hair algae, diatoms, BGA, BBA

Hair algae.... yes, just needs time

Diatoms.... yes, this one will likely correct the quickest

BGA.... yes, just needs time

BBA.... OH NO, THE BLIGHT!!! This one will need some attention ASAP. research the forums here and find some threads about how to combat this and good luck! Once you have it, it will forever try to rear its ugly head.
