hello everyone and hopeful new fish mates! just wanted to introduce myself and my children to you...this is the first real thing i have ever posted on or anything as i have NEVER had internet before...i just use the computer for the common essay type up or report type up.. for my birthday...which is un TOMORROW !!! (SHRIEKS) my wonderful husband of many years bought me a new computer complete with roadrunner high speed internet and desk!! i was so excited that i had to find somewhere to start. so i thought lets find somewhere to introduce myself and my children to everyone...my name is nadia and i am a goldfish lover....every since i was a little girl and had a goldfish in a inhumane little goldfish bowl i have loved them. i am not a expert or anything BY ALL MEANS. but i do know alittle about the goldies... I have 11 goldfish all together , and they are housed in 4 different homes. a 110 gallon, a 75 gallon a 55 gallon and my iddie biddies are in a 30 gallon. im thinking about starting a new tank with some different kinds of those underwater plants you see at the pet store, i think those would be reallly cool to watch grow and take care of, and maybe add another goldfish in with the family, give me some time and let me learn and i will figure out how to put some pictures on here. i hope everyone is having a wonderful night and hope that there fishes are doing MARVELOUS! mine are sleepy and doramander is waiting for breakfast already! he is a chump and lovvvvvvves to eat!

Welcome to the forum Goldfishlover. Hope you have a happy birthday.
You probably already know it but a goldfish is not a good match for a live plant. Goldfish love to eat plants so you should have something else with the plants and i you end up with too many plants you can move some to where the goldfish can eat them. I have rainbow cichlids that also love to eat plants. When I have too much duckweed in my other tanks, I take a big handful and throw it into the tank with the rainbows. A few days later there is none left. Goldfish would be about the same eating duckweed and it is good for their health too.

Plants with thick leather type leaves Swords would be good choice.I keep goldies and swords together well.Idid buy large plants keep the roots coverd well and remove and grow the baby plants in goldie free tank
