A friend and I were bored last night and were talking about tanks, one thing led to another and we ended up talking about very large L tanks. specificly, since noone anymore can be sure they'll always be where they are and it would be a pain to move otherwise, a modular plywood L tank.
really didn't seem like a big problem aside from how to hook the sections together and seal them. we got to thinking as long as everything leading to the seem was water proofed normally including the inside of the seem then its only an issue of getting it to seal and hold pressure. we were thinking a frame on both parts, then using bolts to pull them together. for a seal, use a strip of rubber gasket material all long it, this would cushion the seem and make the seal. then do a silicon sealent all along the seem to finish the seal. while not exactly a fast set up or takedown, it would be a lot easier then if the whole thing was sealed with epoxy adn you wouldn't have to epoxy in your living room.
So is something like this remotly feasable, or is having 24-30 inches of water over a 3 ft seam like this a disaster waiting to happen. my thought is its a disaster waiting to happen but it did make me curious.
