actinic bulbs

I had the same question once. People here advised me that the bulbs would not help freshwater plants grow. The actinic light did, however, make my fish look really cool, I thought. I only had the bulbs because the guy who sold me my 55 threw them in for free.
Yup, they are for saltwater aquariums. Use daylight bulbs with temps between 6000k -10,000K, for plant growth.
