i am setting up a tank at my wifes store and it has city water.

my tanks at home all get their water from our well.

what do i need to worry about, test for, or any special treatments do i need to do?

Chlorine/chloramine is about it. Prime or other delchorinators will do the trick.

I'd also test for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate as those may be present. GH and KH are also nice to know although may not make a difference depending on your plans.

Without testing, it's useful to know in general terms if the water is "hard" or "soft"--some fish do better in some and other fish prefer the other.

the water is pretty soft so i am going to make it an apisto tank
