Recently my plant growth dropped off dramatically. According to Aquaforest Aquarium in San Francisco (an ADA distributor), my Aquasoil had worn out after 2 yrs, and increased fert dosing was recommended. I have increased my dosing, but I wonder if it might help to use some root tabs to help compensate for the worn out substrate. My plants are Parrot's Feather, Wysteria, Rotala Macandra, Java Fern, and Dwarf
Hairgrass.
Although I should know better, I also changed two other things at the same time that I increased the dosing: drastically cut back and replanted almost the whole bushy mess, and then tried to gravel vacuum out as much mulm as possible, which of course stirred it up all over the place. Perhaps this explains the green water. Anyway, as I try to regain good growth and clear water, would root tabs be recommended? Thanks.
