I want to see what you think the most gorgeous tropical fish of all time is!
I would post, but I am a newbie and unable to post pictures. I do, however; love the serpae tetra!

This has always been my favorite breed, although not many people are taken to the arowana. Check it out anyway, its the Metallic Red breed of the asian arowana.

In my opinion, nothing beats the Clown Loach. Especially in character.

as far as appearance, my vote is a tie between discus (pictured above) and some of the killifish.
here is a link i found form searching for "killifish pictures" on google.com

Tough pick between Discus and the Angles, love them both. All kinds of colors too.

One of my top choices is a Native fish, the Rainbow darter.

But I also find that the harlequin darter almost as pretty.

No problem, they are really incredible fish and many native fish are definately over looked.

If you guys start goin into saltwater this thread will last forever! I really like dwarf gouramies and many rainbowfish for freshwater. Discus are really nice too. As for saltwater, I have probably seen hundreds of really nice fish but don't know many names.

I dont know if its because i own one or if its because it really is all around beautiful, but i love the gold gourami, just because it is such a vibrant yellow.

Wow I am amazed these are some beautiful fish! I am going to have to spend my time while my tank cycles looking at fish and what I want, because with what you all are showing me, perhaps I will need a few more tanks! Maybe a saltwater one too, although I don't know if I am all that talented.

These three cichlids are from South Mexico and all 3 are Vieja types. There are over a dozen different Viejas, all of which are equally attractive and range from 10-16". Many of the species have several different variantes.
If anyone wants to learn more about these cichlids and others you can visit www.cichlasomania.com for information and more pictures.
I know alot of you will cringe at this but goldfish.
