I have a 55 gallon planted tank with the following stock:

school of neons
4 Boesemani Rainbows
6 peppered corys
2 cherry barbs
6 ottos
4 Bolivian rams

I was wondering if with my current stock I could add a pair of juvenile angels to the tank? I know that when they get bigger they will eat neons but I've also heard that if you introduce them to the tank when they are young that they won't. What has been everyone's experience?

I don't think you can know for sure that introducing them young means they will not eat the Neons, but it might make your chances better.

I would be concerned about the Barbs, though, as I know most Barbs are nippy and don't generally make good tankmates for Angels.

I would say you would be ok as long as the angels are in the dime to half dollar size range.watch the lil Neons when you see them staying pinned in one place it's time to move somebody

How about a dwarf puffer instead?

Okay, so after doing more research I got scared off of getting a small pair of angels because I am afraid that they would be a mated pair and all hell would break loose so now I am looking at adding a dwarf puffer. It says that they are aggressive but I was hoping to see what everyone's experience with them has been before I completely write off the idea. Thanks!
