real or fake? i have heard snail night mares and im worried about getting real plants!

I was too but I jumped in and am more excited about my plants than my fish. :evil_lol:
You can dip your plants before you plant them to kill snails.

Even if you get real plants there is a chance you could get snails accidentally scooped up with any fish bought.
I would go live plants, low light the easiest.

bleach dip. though if you dont over feed you will never have a snail problem.

Don't worry about snails. Those population explosions you hear about won't happen unless you are overfeeding the tank. And... if you ARE overfeeding enough to let snails populate like that, you're going to end up with a lot more problems overall to deal with than just having too many snails.
Snails are part of the ecosystem. They have their advantages and disadvantages.

I now use potassium permanganate. you can get it from any pool supply. I just add a little to a 5 gallon bucket till it starts to turn purple. Soak for 5 minutes. Then rinse in warm water (80F).
