I'd like to get a small population of both species going and have an opportunity to get 10 of each but small.

I'm thinking of setting up a 10g and put both in, along with a sponge filter and throw in some hair algae-infested plants in there.

Would the snails and shrimps destroy each others' eggs or will they successfully breed in this tank?

Shrimps carry their eggs. It shouldn't be an issue. Both should be able to coexist well.

I have Spixi, Nerite, and Ramshorns in with my RCS without any problems.

Just to easy worries ... in my tanks I have.

Cherry Shrimp
MTS
Rams
Bladders
Ponds
Quilted Melania
Assassin Snails
some really small FW shrimp like s scud but about 1/4 of the size
Palanria

All are reproducing well even the blasted Planaria.

I have 2 dime sized ramshorns in a 10 gallon with my yellow dwarf shrimp. They have laid eggs and the shrimp are leaving the snail eggs alone.

Snail eggs must be horrible in taste as shrimps are known to eating just about everything... :D

i've noticed my amano shrimp will tear into ramshorn eggs, though.

I guess I will find out soon enough. With only those two species in the tank, it will be obvious if one of them is wiping out the other species... Or preventing population growth.

Maybe if you squish the egg cluster the shrimp will eat them :S.

Do you think either Julidochromis or Occies will eat cherry shrimps and/or ramshorn snails?

I get the feeling that shrimps will become their snacks. How about the snails?

Both will end up as snacks.

I sell them locally at 10 for $3. Later I was thinking about breeding some assassin snails, but that I'm not sure since the tank also works if I need to move my Nerites from my main tank. I don't think they would get along to well :evil_lol:

Well then I will have to pass that price is way too high for me....:lipssealedsmilie:

Depends on the size of the Nerites I have 2 tanks with Nerites and Assassins both in them. I have heard of Nerites being attacked (the smaller ones like the olive) but have never had the issue myself.

Not sure what I am looking at in that picture - is that a shot of snails eating shrimp eggs?
