Great for reptiles, or turtles. This aquarium is amazing price, a $150.00 aquarium for only $40! I would not recommend filling it up with water all the way due to lack of middle brace being melted by a heat lamp. However, great for large reptiles. Good price! Black trim. May need minor cleaning

What little I can tell from the photo, it looks to be in good shape. Could I replace the middle brace? Should I pounce?

I'd get it if he lowers the price--but wouldn't plan on filling it more than 1/4 to 1/3 of the way. I wouldn't trust it filled.

I wouldn't touch that at any price...maybe if it was free.

So the middle brace can't be replaced?

Thank you for your input---I really appreciated it.

you can probably fix it, but if you look hard, you could probably find a, as-is serviceable 55 for that price. 40 bucks for a defective 55 isn't that great a deal IMO.

The whole top piece (including center brace) can be replaced. As for the cost and aggravation being worthwhile for a used tank that's a matter of opinion. Locally I've never seen a used 55 go for $40 in any condition. Even on Craiglist folks want top dollar for their used setups.
