tap water question [Archive]

i'm new to this. When I fill up my 5 gal bucket with tap water, i notice that there is a blue tint. Is this normal?

I wouldnt think so...unless your bucket is not white/clear? Is the bucket a colored one?

...and if you have the water by glass or by sunlight it may look tinted but other than that, drinking water shouldnt be blue. :)

Yeah, test your water. Usually a pet store that sells fish will test it for you if you don't have the supplies. Are you using conditioner before you put the water in the tank? That helps and should be done anyway.

I feel really lucky. I've got the greatest 7.2ph water on the planet. Rock filtered out of my well.

I brought a sample of the water to 2 stores and both of the recommended that I do NOTHING to it when doing water changes.
