I am going to purchase some untreated wood from my local fish store. What can I do to treat it. It is a large piece and I will not be able to boil it...what are my options?

I've had large pieces that I couldn't fit into even my largest pots, but was able to boil them a bit at a time and turn them so that eventually the whole piece got at atleast a few minutes in the boiling water. Is that at all feasible?
Also, you can give them a good scrub dry and if they'll fit, stick them in the oven(obviously for only a few minutes) at 350°. That will kill the nasties too. Just don't forget them or your oven will become a fireplace.:)
There are probably other substances you can use, but I don't like to use any chemicals(bleach etc.) unless I can completely submerse them to detoxify before introducing into the tank.
