i was looking around my tank when i saw that my discus had layed eggs!!
being that its their first, im not expecting great things. my question is tomorrow is my scheduled water change, do i proceed? the eggs are pretty far up my filter intake.

I keep cichlids and I learned the hard way NOT to wait on the WC.... I waited because I thought it was best- the fry hatched and then I did a WC- killed them all from the shock. I suggest doing 10% WC everyother day. I do that now when I see my females brooding and I havent lost an entire batch yet! :) It keeps them used to the water changes. :)

Congrats! It's exciting. When I first started seeing spawns in my discus tank of course I wanted to see them hatch even though I knew they wouldn't survive in that tank. The times I did water changes with eggs in there, it seemed to have a negative impact. So I wound up waiting a few extra days for water changes just to see the wrigglers and that worked. If you do wind up doing a water change with eggs and fry in there, just do a very small one.
