the 10,000K is fine the but you will want to replace the 460NM

I also bought a Satelite for my 16 galon.
Did yours come with wo seperate lamps?
Mine came with two 40 watt CFL's. I bought
a spare dual daylight lamp and now don't know what
to do with the actinis. When youy run it, the aquarium
looks nice but it doesn't do anything for plants.
I think I saw a actinic/daylight incorporated into the same
lamp. In that case you've either gotta use it or buy a
diffent one.
The Current Satellites are very high quality fixtures, I love it.

Good bet is to replace the actinic with a daylight bulb. Something aroung 6500K.

10K is fine and I think its the best viewing color of them all. Why not do both 10K bulbs? Or if compatible, look for a 7800 or 9325k :)

I like a mixture of 10,000 and 6,700 K bulbs.

you wouldn't want me to tell you what to do. i got a 55 gallon fully planted with no co2 , no plant food, and 200 watts of sylvania cool white house bulbs. i do have laterite in my substrate but as far as the lighting, i got 5 40 watt bulbs i got tired of paying high prices for good bulbs that last 3 to 6 months, my tank is out of control. check into homedepo T5 full sprectrum. good luck and remember not all tanks are the same
