Hmm. Well the water line in my tank is already sort of low though. Your saying that if I lower it more they'll possibly breed? I thought that there was male and female in this species also. I don't know. I'm dumb about all this. Thanks for anybody's advice.
No you don't have to lower it more, they just like a dry place to lay their eggs. As to making them breed, I don't think you can but when mine reached sexual maturity (they were a little larger than a nickel) they went at it like attention starved teenagers and haven't stopped since. I have to take their clutches every few days and freeze them or I would be overrun with snails. As it is, one of my sneaky girls laid a clutch under the filter outlet and I have about 50 babies running around.
In my experience the females are larger than the females. I don't know if that is always the fact, but for me it is. Here is a great link that will tell you EVERYTHING!
I don't know if it works with your mystery snails, but my Colombian Ramshorns (also a type of apple snail) always go wild (think major snail orgy here) right after a big water change.
