I recently added more neon tetra's to my aquarium and did not QT like an idiot. Anyways... I think that one of the tetras is beginning to get ich.. its has one very small spot on it..I'm monitoring it closely..but I was wondering what I should do about this... because I have live plants in my aquarium and the tetras are scaleless... prior to having the tetras I would use Quickcure which worked really well.. But i'm skepticle now. I have a 10gal aquarium and I was thinking of adding like 4 drops of the quickcure and adding a like 8 teaspoons of aquarium salt. Sound like a good idea??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :) -keep fishin'-

up the temp. what plants do you have. try low level salt.

One very small spot doesn't sound like an outbreak. Keep an eye on it but dont medicate! Especially dont mix-medicate unless you have a particular reason to.

If your water spec is good then they'll be healthy enbough to survive if the condition worsens but honestly most fish get small single dots on fins etc every now and again.

If you are really worried up the temp a few degrees for a bit but just keep an eye on it. If it worsens get yourself some 'esha exit whitespot treatment'. It'll normally kill the infection in the fish and in the water.

Agree.

Sorry, what do you mean by "tetras are scaleless"?

Thanks!!! I'll try doing that and just keep monitoring the tetra... I appreciate the help!
bitbot I shouldn't have said that tetras didn't have scales... I meant to say that the quickcure isn't good for them... anywho... I hope this all works out

the quickcure should be fine...either that or use IckClear Jungle Tabs or the heat/salt method.

Heat and 6 teaspoons is the proper dosage for Ich in most conditions.

i don't think it was ich after all... it was hard to tell because the spot was so small on the fish..plus i had never personally seen in on a neon... the other times i dealt with it were on bigger fish. Everything is going well. thanks guys
