Can you use a "48in. Current USA 130W Power Compact Fixture with LED Moonlights" on a standard 55 gallon - to grow plants? (Freshwater)

I heard it was a saltwater light, but I found a great deal on one, and I need a good light to start my planted tank, so I was wondering if you could use it on Freshwater?

well as long as you switch out the the actinic bulb with some thing in the 6,500K to 10,000K spectrum you should be fine.

Alright...I know absolutley nothing about this stuff, I've had tanks for a while, but this is gunna be my first planted.

you will want 'freshwater bulbs' 10,000k/6700k bulbs. check the price of the replacement bulb to see if you are actually getting a deal.

might want to save your money and get one that comes with the right bulbs. also look into t5 light.

have to agrea look around a bit you might get e better deal and i look into T5 HO's.
