Can not figure out what this is, but it is getting bigger. The picture is not very clear, but basically this thing is yellow, and looks net like.

Texture? Looks like an encrusting algae, or a color variation of coralline. If it's thicker, it may be an encrusting sponge.

I do not know about the texture, I don't like sticking my fingers in my tank, and touching things all the time. I was thinking sponge, but it is not very thick.

I'd say coralline, but give it a poke.

Coralline comes in a wide variety of colors--purple is the most common, but there are greens, yellows, reds--bunches. Some are smooth and grow in thin layers, while others will look like leaves, or tree fungus. It's pretty cool stuff. We have some really attractive dark green, the common purple, and then a purple that grows away from the rock in curls, and is ringed by pale purple.

Hi,
If you could get a better picture, it might help. It looks greenish-yellow in the picture... It looks to me, if it where just green, like it could be a green algae... Specifically, a type of algae that has small little cells... I cant remember its name, but I will check...
It could be a fungus of some sort, or it could be an algae.
I would not be particulary concerned anyway. It is harmless.

greenish yellow might be a better way to describe it, maybe even chartruse
Does it look like this close-up?

That's what I've got in my tank...and I'm pretty much convinced it's a sponge.

yes, it looks a lot like that, but not so out of control as your picture. Does yours look almost like intertwined tubes?

LOL, and that's my smallest patch you're seeing!

Kinda...but more like intertwined hairs in random patterns. There are small 'feeder tubes' all over the place though. That make any sense?
