Is peat moss safe from this place?

Apparently a local farm store sells bags of pure peat moss for horse bedding. I'd like to use some in my 75 gallon to see if some of my dwarf cichlids might spawn. Would it be safe to get from this source? And if it is fine and I do get it, how much should I be adding (probably to my filter?)?

And, this is just a guess, but I don't think they add anything to it.

Ask them if they add anything to the peat. As long as there aren't pesticides and other chemicals that will harm the fish, it's okay.

Thanks Lupin. I'll try to get over there, could even get there today, and ask them.

Should I just shove a handful into the AC 110? I'm fairly certain I have to rinse it ;)

Thanks again, and wish me luck! I'd like to breed something that requires more, err, well, requires any skill to breed (endlers and shrimp are a tad bit easy ;))

I have 20 gold briggs, a jade and a purple stripe, and no eggs yet :p:
