need help with plumbing fug<->tank

so i have a powerhead to suck up water for the fug to the tank, and i had thought that siphoning would be good enough to get water form tank to fug.

well i was wrong.

obviously the powerhead is filling the mt faster then the siphon can empty it.

water everywhere:mad2: i had cut my powerhead tip:swear: and now just running on my protien skimmer til this gets solved.:mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::swear::swear::swear::swear::swear:

well, there are several ways to solve this problem.

1: Use a HOB overflow box if you aren't already. Most will drain faster than a small powerhead can return water

2: Install a small ball valve on the powerhead returning the water and dial down the flow

What Reef said and I would add a pump instead of a powerhead in the fuge to return to tank that is greater flow than the overflow can drain. You can then add a valve to control the return rate. You will need to know the maximum flow rate of the overflow and the flow rate of the fuge. It is possible that you may need to add a valve to control both.

I'm gonna just add a valve to both, hopefully I can get it fixed tonight when im off work.
