I have 1 female and 1 male, these guys are great but both always have damaged lips. They must be doing something that causes the damaged but I don't know what. It doesn't look like fungus or anything, just damaged skin hanging off.
Water is fine (0,0,5), just finishing treating for ich with salt.
I plan to get more to finish the school but not until I know what is going on here first.

What other fish are in the tank with them. Have you seen any aggression between them I know my male Bosemani give each other a bit of biff but never caused any damage.

Can you get a picture of the damage, I can think of nothing other that fighting (but Bosemani are not known for that type of aggression) or disease that would be causing this. Your water params look good. As the saying goes "A picture speaks a thousand words". It would make it easier to diagnose what is wrong.

A picture would definitely help. I can't think of any disease like this so it sounds like some sort of aggression. Is there any decor in your tank that they might be injuring themselves on? Anything sharp?

EDIT: You posted pics while I was typing. Looks kind of like they might be getting nipped at, but hard to tell.

Yes, they do swim into the glass. I feel so bad for them because as soon as they start to heal, then they are damaged again.

No, not shy, they love to come and greet me. I do have gravel at the bottom, but I haven't seen dive into it or anything.
