I have stoped by a few pet stores on the way home from college today, and I have to say I was a little disappointed...they seem to be getting worse lately (about 7 oscars ranging from 2-4" in what looked like a short and long 10gal.). But anyway, I found a store that carries angels and they are pretty healthy and fairly reasonably priced.
blah blah blah.....anyway, here is my question:
Are angels compatible together? I am thinking along the lines of combining any 2 of these types: flame, coral beauty or bi-color.
I am browsing the clasifieds looking for a good deal on a 75-90gal. So far I have found a good deal on a 110(too big) and a 50(not big enough).
So assume they will be in a 75gal., and just incase i cant get a 75...would they fit in a 55 also.
Tank mates would probably be something like a pair of clowns, maybe a wrasse and small group of these little green chromis I was recommened on here.
thanks

Dwarf angels do not share well with like-shaped and colored fish. I would think you could mix the bicolor and either the flame or the coral beauty, but not the flame and the coral beauty (two similar in shape and color). The larger tank will increase your offs of survival. Angels are hit or miss--sometimes they are pigs and hardy, others won't eat well and wither away. Spend a lot of time looking at the fish, and ask to see them fed (I usually just ask when they feed, then go by at that time). Don't buy one that isn't eating! Also, if you're planning on corals, be forewarned that dwarf angels are known to pick at polyps. Some don't, some do--once more, hit or miss.
I would add the angel and the clowns last--they will be pretty aggressive.

OG, is there anything at all you don't know?:D
Thanks alot for the help....I would have done just the opposite as far as the time I added them. Either the clowns or Angels would have been the first.
I think I will stick with just one Angel to be on the safe side and perhaps add some chromis or damsels first. I still have to get my tank before I do anything. I just like to have a "game plan" I guess with fish since I've killed so many in the past.

I suck at math. ;)
Angels are really territorial, and they are armed with very sharp spines on their gill plates. These are used to slash at competitors, and can do a lot of damage. My bicolor's spines are probably between 1/4 - 1/2 inch long, and nasty looking. He's pretty laid back, but I'd hate to see those things smack into a fish.

In your opinion, would a Long-Nosed Butterfly fish resemble a Angel too much to combine them? I notice alot of the butterfly fish resemble angels closely except this one has a long snout.
I also read it is not a true polyp eater. I would like to eventually add corals, so would this be a safe replacement for a dwarf angel? It said something about "digs its food (animal) out of the narrowest crevices". I assume this means "pods" or something.
These books I have can be so vague. It seems I learn 10x more from posting on AC and doing google searches.
Now that I read the post I just typed, maybe I should have made a new thread for it? Anyhow, thanks for the advice.
*why is it i only notice the typos after ive posted it? i will probably find tons more everytime i look at it.*
here is a pic of it, they had one in the tank above the angels at the lfs. (this is a pic i got online)
