Tank Backgrounds

My lfs has some really neat tank backgrounds. They are on a roll and can be purchased by the foot.

Without feeling stupid. The obvious answer to my question is to tape it up..... but is there some special way these are attached to the back of the tank...... like a decal or something.


In the old days I just used to paint the back of the tank black or blue with acrylic paint... when done a razorblade would scrape it off the back.
 
The one I bought came with a bottle to make up soapy water. You peeled off a piece of paper and sprayed the plastic with soapy water then squegeed it on. It worked great with no bubbles and is holding without problems.

Vaseline works too.
 
I have stuff that I bought at lowes when I bought window tint. You spray it on, squeegee the back on, and make sure you get the bubbles out. I don't even bother taping the sides anymore, though you can. The veggie oil would work, but would get smelly in fairly short order. I also like painting the backs. How easy has that made my life!
 
I used the Blue Life background kit with soapy water and the adhesive peel on my 20 gallon.

I think I am going to custom paint an acrylic paint background on my 100+ when i get it. Nothing too busy, like a landscape scene though. Thinking something more logo like fish designs in an asian theme with multi-color wash from black at the bottom half to more color at the top.

I probably need to start sketching my designs.
