Don't let the dire name fool you, a rose by any other name would... well, be this new to aquariums!
I'm going to be picking up a 27-gallon tank with a filter, heater and light kit for a really great price. Because I'm brand-new, I'm starting with a freshwater tank.
I have a friend, Pudge on the server, here, who is also doing freshwater and will be giving me some platy (platys?) once they're born, and another friend whose presence here wouldn't surprise me, with a full-blown saltwater ecosystem. With their help and the wondrous assistance of those here (Pudge's testament), I'm sure I'll be more than able to get my incoming tank up, running and stable very soon!
