What kind of loach is this?

It was just labeled "loach" when I bought it. And I wanted to get more, because it seems lonely (it was lonely at the store, too, it was following a rhino pleco everywhere).

Other than that, it's doing pretty good. It seems to enjoy swimming against the current in the tank and darting around from rock to rock and cave to cave like a bat out of hell lol ^_^

It could be the type of Schistura that's just got the sp. species marking. But it is definitely a Schistura loach. They all stay about the same size, eat about the same foods, and do enjoy shoaling.

Doesn't look like Schistura notostigma. How big is the fish?

Edit: The shape can also suggest Nemacheilus sp., not just Schistura sp.

It's about 2", maybe a tad bigger.

It's almost feeding time here, so I'm going to try and get some more pictures when it comes out for dinner.

Best guesses:
A stressed Acanthocobitis botia
or Nemacheilus elegantissimus (rare to nonexistent in hobby)

The odd thing is I was actually thinking of the N. elegantissimus but I kept thinking where could you ever find that particular species in the trade. I've never even heard of one being kept in the tank at all. Good guess though and possibly correct. It's hard to say with dark pics. We'll need more pics just to verify.
