Mussels are now startig to establish themselves. Three mussels have somewhat already buried themselves in the gravel. Two have already buried themselves almost completely to where you can only see the white spot on their shell. Eight are starting to open themselves up while one is still clamped shut. This one that stays shut is quite a bit smaller than the others. Guess he's a little shy. But I know he's definitely alive.

Those that were wondering what size aquarium they are in, they are in 2.5 gallon aquariums. I have two 2.5 gallon aquariums and there are 8 mussels in one and there are six in the other. I'm gonna get a couple more from the creek to make a total of eight clams in the other aquarium. I'm having tremendous luck with them. Especially when I put some phytoplankton drops in the water. That really percked them up.

Where I come from. There are tons of these guys everywhere in moving streams. So I just made the environment more like theirs and there you go. They don't like warm water either. They are cool water bivalves. Those wondering where I am from, I am from Louisville, Kentucky.
