Just another dumb mixing question. I have 4 dwarf gourami's( Blue, and blood red) as well as 4 platies.
Is it possible to put in a pair of Angelfish? Or will issues arise.
Tank is 37gal.
thanks.

I'm not sure about any aggression issues, but I think you might be pushing it to add two angels to that size tank. There are plenty of other options, though, if you are looking to add more fish to your tank.

Compatability wise sure...room and bioload wise....I wouldn't do it.

A single might be ok if you stay on top of your tank maintenance. I wouldn't put a pair in there, if they spawn a 37 is not large enough for them and the gouramies.

I would not add angels to a tank with dwarf gouramies. A juvenile angel will be fine, but once it hits sexual maturity it's disposition will most likely change. If you put a pair in and they mate, total carnage.

So, should I look at adding some cory cats and that's about it load wise?
(Tank is filtered by an XP1 if it matters)
One angel by itself will work better than a pair. Cories are fine additions.

I would add in 6 cory cats... they're cute and would bring some much needed balance to the bottom level of your tank. I would probably also add 3 oto, again because they're cute, and they're small but quite helpful with algae.
If I were you, I would also add another filter, perhaps an Aquaclear 50 or 70, with some filter floss to help get the water really clear, and then call it a day.
(My 36 gallon has an XP3 and an AC70 running on it, very happy with performace of both, plus I can clean them on alternate weeks to keep things running smoothly and my water super clean and clear, while still not screwing up the good bacteria much.)

I have 2 pairs (4 total for those of you not good at math ;)) in my 46g with a blue gourami.
Both pairs have spawned multiple times, and I haven't had any issues. The worst of it has been a little chasing but that has been the extent of it.
I say go for it, but keep on top of your water quality (lord knows I have to)!

My current stock is now
2x blood red dwarf gourami's
2x blue dwarf gourami's
4x platies
4x corydora cats
1x common pleco (4")
Thinking of adding 2 more cory cats and thats about it.

But then again a single angel could look really cool.
