Okay, so I've always had a soft spot since I've always wanted to be a veterinarian and used to get their catalogs for dog/cat supplies when I was a kid. So I was so excited to learn last year (when I got into fish) that they have many more supplies for different animals, competitive prices, and a great website. Then I decided to upgrade my lights recently and when my Ebay bidding fell through, I found a thread here with a link to a great sale on Coralife lights on their website. It was such a great deal, I mean 50% off! Awesome!

So I went ahead and ordered the Coralife Single Strip 48" light (this one). It said that it was on backorder and that it would be sent out later. I was thinking maybe April before I saw it since I just ordered in on Tuesday (March 24). This morning I found out that they shipped it, and it should be here today (Thursday, March 26)! That is such great timing as I'm getting some plants from a couple members here that really need more medium/low light rather than my current very low light.

So now my only problem is figuring out how to make a dead spot at the top of the tank to prevent floaters from getting pushed all over the tank but also keeping them reigned in during water changes. I've heard of making a ring with airline tubing to surround them, but I'm concerned that if it gets close to the output of my HOB it will get pushed down anyway. My thought was to maybe rig up a strip of plastic to run front to back and down maybe 2" to cut off 1/3 to 1/2 the tank from the output. Should still provide plenty of current through the rest of the tank and allow the whole tank to get filtration, especially since I'll have the input of my canister on that side.

Okay, I did a quick search about the divider thing. I think I found something I can live with. I'll see if I can pick up the supplies at Walmart tonight. All I should need is that plastic canvas stuff from the craft supplies (looking for the smallest holes possible), suction cups, and maybe some fishing line to secure the suction cups to the mesh. Then cut to size, attach suction cups to mesh with fishing line, and then attach suction cups to front and back of tank. This should at least slow the water current on one side and perhaps keep the floaters on the slow side. I'll post here if it works, but for now I'll just have pennywort and those fake floating baby hideouts. Lost all my duck weed and salvinia to the filters.

I ordered the 96w Strip for $55 yesterday- the best deal I could find to make my tank 2wpg. They said it was backordered until April....BUT then they sent me 2 shipping notifications (I ordered more things) and have taken the entire cost out of my bank already...so I am thinking 1 of those packages is my light!! Hopefully they will arrive tomorrow!

I have ordered before from them and had great luck. Fast shipping and no problems. Haven't had to deal with Customer Service yet (a good thing for any company, in my book), so I'm don't know how they'd be. BUT, I've heard firsthand experiences from people who have needed something replaced or exchanged, and they were very impressed.

I have ordered from them many times.. i even forgot to apply a discount..contacted them and they applied it for me.

great service fast shipping(tho they cannot control the shipper they will contact them and usually you get a tracking number

That's true...it will depend on the service of the carrier in the area...our FedEx (which they use) out here is great, UPS is good, USPS SUCKS (there's this town that everything gets stuck in that I call purgatory for packages...Allentown, MI....anywho).

with standard shipping I get stuff from them NEXT day - obviously because I am in Minnesota and they are in Wisconsin, but their customer service is through the roof. The ONLY issue I ever had was once a bottle of prime arrived cracked and empty - they sent me 5 to replace it.
