help! (filter)

i need idiot proof step by step instructions on how to set up a magnum 350 canister filter... i cant seem to find any on any of the searches ive done...apparently im not doing somthing right, every time i try to get it going it grumbles and gargles with the water about 1/3 of the way up the canister and then when i go to turn it off it fills all the way up and spews water out the top all over the room... :lipssealedsmilie:

finally got it up and working, thanks for all the help, i dont think i would have realized i was missing a piece unless i would have had the instructions!! my water should be clear, and my fish should be happier shortly:dance:
