Something to think about the next time you drop a lobster into boiling water...

You would think this would already be obvious to anyone who's ever been around them long enough to observe normal behavior vs. stressed behavior. Yet scientists still need to do studies like that to convince the general public? Most of us already know this without needing research and analysis. Sheesh. :(

Because by looking at your fish and their behavior you reached to your conclusions and established your hypothesis; you have been a scientist this whole time. But, the general public that has no contact with fish, or inverts or other animals and who believe that only humans have soul, feel, and think never cross through their minds that animals suffer too. Even so, with that scientific research most people would still find it hard to believe and many other would not even care...sad but true.

so basically what this study shows is that if you decide to rip the claws off a lobster or a crab, it'll feel pain...

Did we really need a whole scientific study to figure that one out? I mean, seriously. . . .

If you go to the voting section, which is basically "Do not eat", "Depends", and "Eat anyways", don't read the comments. It's all the usual cocky crap.

hey now lets not get down on the scientists, they prove with out a shadow of a doubt these common sense ideas most of us already know. these studies are important to help with laws and legislation, conservation and educating a very skeptical and fickle public. most of these scientist probably already knew that crustaceans could feel pain, they were simply just backing up the idea with hard facts that can not be disputed.

Great. Now i'm starving.

Anyone got any lobster around here? I'm frickin starving.
