i have a copper decoration that i would like to put in my tank. will it harm my fish or live plants

Fish:
Orange Flash Apistos
Brilliant Rasboras
pleco (not sure variety)

plants
Amazon Sword
Java Moss
Java Fern
Wysteria

I wouldn't. Copper can contaminate a tank forever, and slowly leech out causing problems. Your current stock would be ok, I think, but if you ever wanted to keep inverts then it could pose a problem (even if you removed the decor). BTW, your stocking sounds like it is quite lovely. Pics?

the pictures of my tanks that i take never turn out. not sure how to take good tank pictures. i have a decent digital camera, but the fishy pics just dont look that great

ill take some and post them anyway if you want

The copper will contaminate the aquarium and render it un-invertabrateable. :]

You can never put inverts in there after you put that ornament in, it's tainted for life.

If you sell it, you probably might want to tell the next owner.
