I haven't had too much luck with bettas lately and I can't believe this happenned to me again with another heater. I accidentally must have hit the knob on the heater when feeding my betta in the morning a few days back. I didn't realize it and when I came home the temp went up and the betta died so upsetting I had just bought Spumoni 2 months ago when I lost another betta to a heater accident and to have another heater mishap really pissed me off. Then for unknown causes my betta Oscar died have no idea why. A few weeks back he had popeye I cured it with Maracyn and he was back to normal in days. Then a few weeks later he was lying in his cave alot but his water was fine ph 7.0 nitrate 5 nitrite 0 ammonia 0. He started staying up at the top even after a wc was done I figured he must have something internal or it is possibly old age he died Friday night. I bought two new bettas and am crossing my fingers. I am in the process of replacing the heaters in my smaller tanks I have not had a chance to purchase them yet but will very soon. Here are pics of CASPER AND SAKI

Sorry to hear of your losses! :( I had bad luck lately too! 1 of my bettas died for no apparant reason, one fish in my cichlid tank was killed by another and my plecos was attacked! Must be a bad fish month. :(

VERY pretty new additions though! I espessially am fond of casper! :)

Thanks! I feel really guilty about losing Spumoni because I had lost the betta before I got him by a heater accident I fell asleep forgetting I had turned it on and then another accident by hitting the knob and now Spumoni died is just sad because he was so pretty! Am going to be much more careful. Yeah Casper is my first white betta was going around and around thinking of names then I thought of cartoons with white characters and Casper was it! Thanks for the kind thoughts sorry for your losses too SMDIMI.

How big a tank are they in? Marineland makes a heater for nano-tanks that heats the water to 78: no dial or switch to bump.
