So, I'm thinking one of these could be good tank maintenance.. as my tank is already getting crowded with pond snails and ramshorn snails.. and I just got a batch of MTS so I was thinking one of these guys would be an awesome addition, however, I don't want to kill off ALL my snails, as I enjoy them being there.. and I actually have gotten the last bunch on purpose, but how's this guy work? Does he just eat til they're dead? eat only for food or fun too? How about with nerites and briggs? I don't want him to eat them! Help! =)

I personally wouldn't house assassins with snails you want to keep, its in their nature to kill other snails. They will eat their favorites first, they do not kill for "sport", just to eat. I had assassins take down a large bridgesii despite their being ample ramshorns and pondsnails.

I agree with Rachel. Regardless, I would not bother even keeping snails larger than them even though some people will tell you large snails will not be bothered. I've upgraded my assassins' meal from small bladder snails and MTS to large juvenile canas and they work as a group in taking those down.
Ok so as a "back-up" plan.. how do I get rid of these pond snails? I read somewhere there was a mixture you could dip your plants in before transferring them to a new tank.. bleach and water.. I can't remember the mixture, because I don't want them to overrun my 75g =\ and I'm going to have other snails that I will be purposely feeding so it's not like I can starve them to death lol and I know I don't want to pour anything in the tank to kill snails, for obvious reasons.. any suggestions?
