Ok, so I got this new sponge filter for my shrimpies so they don't get sucked up and there wouldn't be that tremendous water flow from the HOB that I can't believe they would like, but man o man this thing blows out more bubbles than.. I dunno what, this tank has DIY co2 and I can't have all them bubbles at the top.. any ideas? a powerhead? what's that for? Help!

Do you have it connected to a powerhead or an airpump?

I would get a gang valve and crank it down to the pressure you need. I don't know about CO2 though.

Well the co2 is seperate.. it's not going through this thing, I just need to get the bubbles to stop.. I wondered if the sponge filter would still be efficient if I tied the bubble line a little.. or if a power head sprayed water instead of bubbles.. ?

So you have an air-driven sponge filter? I don't see any way to make the bubbles stop, seeing as the bubbles are how the thing works.

Right, it says it can be air driven, or power head, the question is does a power head make this many bubbles too? I have never even seen one let alone used one. Thanks
a sponge filter driven by a powerhead wouldn't produce bubbles. I think it's best to hook up the powerhead to your filter since the bubbles from an airstone would gas off the CO2 you're trying to inject.
Depending on how your CO2 is set up, you might even consider running both your sponge filter and a CO2 reactor off the same powerhead. The lift tube from the sponge filter attaches to the intake of the powerhead and the outflow of the powerhead goes into the reactor

A power head(PH) won't make bubbles, unless you want it to. As in, they are capable, if you want it to.
I'm going to go draw a picture or two, to see they can help.
To be continued...

Someone made a DIY water re-directing thingy out of a water bottle, somewhere on here.
Where it is, IDK.
Maybe someone will see this and leave a link.

From what I understand, and please correct me if I am wrong. Shrimp are not a fan of bubbles nor' high current. It is almost as if you're in a catch 22 situation.. but in my opinion, I think that the air driven sponge filter, with the CO2 put in that would seem to be your best alternative, but this being said if you could minimize the amount of bubbles that would probably be best.

Thanks for the picture! And I think i understand much better now.. in about.. 3wks I will be buying pressurized co2 for my tank but for now I guess I'll just stick with the HOB and the water level to the brim, I will be hooking up a canister filter and I've heard somewhere that there's a way to run the co2 into that.. so maybe I just bought these sponge filters for nothing.. or maybe 1 can hook to the intake on the canister filter.. oh well for now that's just not gonna work in the 10g but the 75's coming.. so I'll probably ask more questions then.. thanks a bunch for the replies, they helped alot.

thanks.
I figured I could put it in a picture easier than trying to explain it, in 4k words.

Thanks for the picture! ...
or maybe 1 can hook to the intake on the canister filter...
Your welcome.
And yea, you can do a canister just like the HOB was showing.

Thanks for the link. : )
The pic wasn't too hard. Just a bunch of squares. Except for the bubbles, that where done like the squares, but with the circle maker thingy.
just that plain 'ol Paint program that comes with windows. That I use once every 3 or 4 yrs.
I guess I just up'd my useage by about 400% sense I've been to this forum. ; )
