I found this pretty cool stump and cut the pieces i wanted off of it. I just want to know whats the easiest way to get the bark off. My friends said letting it soak for about a month should strip the bark off.. is there any other way that is faster. And no I do not have access to a sand blaster.. and only one piece could fit onto the grill the other is to large?

it depends on the species you have.
generally it can take longer than a month

Ah thanks I believe it is oak since it is pretty heavy and really hard to cut with a hatchet :-p it also sunk within an hour

Get a few common Pleco's to eat the bark. This is the easiest way and the ubderlying wood will also goos texture to it.

I don't know how large your pieces are, but you could try boiling them.

where did you get your wood from. I am surounded by oak trees. I was wondering about using a few pieces in my tanks. Can I do that?
