View Full Version : i think i got a new color of briggs in my babies

i had many blues and there were some tiny ones that i couldn't tell what color they were they looked navy blue, instead of regular blue, so i finally took some pic as they are slowly getting bigger and when i looked at the uploaded pic it looks like they are blue with stripes???????

can you see the stripes on the first pic and the bottom one in the back there is a dark one, its hard finding the right pic can't see till they are loaded in message,..

THE NEXT POST IS SOME OF THE DARKER ONES IN THE 7TH PIC YOU CAN SEE REGULAR BLUES TO THE LEFT OF PIC AND WEIRD BLUES TO THE RIGHT LOOK KINDA SMOKY NAVY COLOR
any one have these before?

i'm not sure if there is a vaccine but i hope they find one soon before this spreads, lol, cause i know we both got it ..........LOL

The blue stripey ones kinda look like my "black" one... who is actually brown with stripes. he's pretty :)

You'll probably need to wait until it grows more before getting a clearer answer. Gosh, how fun would that be though? To have created a new color?

See, now this is why I wanted just one brig! They're pretty, but not pretty enough for me to want THAT many! That said, I do like the blues. I'm completely envious of the CPD, though.

also the pink one to the left in the last picture is kinda weird also its not pearl-essent like the ls magentas one to the right,
have to watch them as they grow there are a lot of the duller pink ones too,..


I really would like a couple of light footed blues.

all blues have either a dark or gray foot, if it had a white foot it would be ivory the shell is opaque

i have them in a couple tanks,..
i tryied to hatch them in gravel but losses were high, and found out that my smaller sand tank, they do great so i wait till they get tiny pea sized and then move them to gravel tanks have many 20l's and 30's etc,..

most of the snails are mts and a few rams and ponds, lol just looks like all briggs,.. they are 4 clutches,..




See, now this is why I wanted just one brig! They're pretty, but not pretty enough for me to want THAT many! That said, I do like the blues. I'm completely envious of the CPD, though.

and i was trying for rare'r colors like solid pink and solid purple so i'll keep trying,..

the cpd are also for sale also if i can catch them, i have them in a 15g and a 46bow, that is packed.
that is the first time i ever got a pic of them they are very sneaky,..lol i must have about 60 maybe most are fry of all sizes,.. they don't line up for a fin count...lol

the hard thing is that you really cant tell what they really look like till you post pic at full size to see all the different stripes that you can't see from the tank or in your hand,.. it like the suprise in the cracker jacks lol,.. never know till you get big photo,...lol

they keep me guessing every day,.. a lot more interesting than regular tanks of fish,.. inverts rock, lol

something new every day....... and yes i don't have a life:silly:

That's a very nice shade of blue. Reminds me of the periwinkle color in a box of crayons.

OMG HOW CUTE!! I want some! I think I'm addicted to inverts and snails are growing on me. I sat with a cup of MTS's and named them yesterday no wonder my co-workers think I am nuts! :rofl:

No seriously, beautiful snails. I have no clue about coloration. I love the purple ones :D

Lovely snails but I must add a comment here. That many snails in one tank is disaster waiting to happen. I would suggest seperating them into other tanks if possible before you start to see shell deteriotation and other deformities, trust me from experience it will happen:)

they are in different tanks..... thanks for the concern,....
i take them out when they are big enough to not get stuck between the gravel in the other tanks,
the water is changed plenty and i add liquid calcium to water every water change, and and they get jello + kens sticks, and crab cuisine, thanks for the concern,..

been caring for tons of animals for over 29 years, and i do it right ,.. scientifically formulated feeds for every species, that is what i do in my life.
care giver not person with pets,.

yes those are pink ones they are very strange,......magentas are and were colored at a tiny size these are whitish/pink and one of the larger ones about almost 2 cm started to get stripes and looks kinda like a magenta, or (lt striped purple) so i think they are red striped ones, or who knows?
not sure if they all will turn out with stripes or not ,.still watching ,..lol

I did not mean to say that you don't know how to or do not take care of your snails I have had a bad experience with to many snails in one tank and am always trying to keep it from happening to others:)

i know you weren't but just letting you know i'm not the type of person to worry about, tons of experience under my belt, and a few other things,.....lol
