:( I have a 20 Gallon and want to change 2 Gallons per week. I'm scared to mess up the salinity...does anyone have a ratio? Ex. 2cups salt per Gallon. Please help.

most salts I've seen come with instructions. I think IO salt is like 1 Cup Per 2 or 4 Gallons.... but thats off the top of my head.

Instant Ocean is 1/2 cup per gallon. It should say on the bucket, or bag.

Always use a hydrometer. Variations in humidity can significantly impact the density of salt, which means that a cup of salt does not always contain the same amount of salt. Think of a gallon of liquid water versus a gallon of ice--there's more water in a gallon of liquid water than there is in a gallon of ice, since water expands as it freezes.

Cup/gallon should be used to get closee, then use a hydrometer or refractometer to get the target value. If you don't test, you're guessing and it will fluctuate. Hydrometers are not exact, but they are better than nothing.

Best to use a bulb hydrometer. More expensive, but also more accurate than the handheld water sample type.
