nned help on marine setup. (newbie)

I went to my local fish store yesturday and saw them selling a salt-water kit, with all accesceries and stuff needed to start a freshwater tank.

They offer it for $299.99 CDN
for the eclipse 29 gallon system/w bio wheel filter, heater, marine salt, PH test kit, just wonderin is this a good deal?

How long do i have to let the water sit until i can add fish in?
What kinda fish should I put into that tank and how many?
