Hi Guys! :thm:

Yesterday, my brother set up a new tank. We got him 4 Mystery Snails and 4 Red Ramshorn snails. This morning, there was a huge clutch of eggs! One of them had laid them on the first night of being in the tank!:)

I can't believe it, as I have always kept Mystery Snails and they never layed eggs. Guess I always got all guys or all girls! Anyway, the snails are very big, and the clutch of eggs is 4.5cm in leangth, 2cm in width and 2cm in depth!

Just wondering how long it will take them to hatch and if I should put a heater in the tank - It gets colder now as we are approaching winter! I would appreciate as much information as possible! Also what's the best pH for these guys and girls? Thanks in advance!

Sorry, just read over the post - The Mystery snails were the ones who laid the eggs!

Thanks Magamer! Does it matter if they get damp/wet?

Thanks again Mgamer, so do I need to put a heater in the tank?

The water 22.5 degrees C.

the temp is ok at that level... but if it gets any lower than that your gonna want a heater--- mystery snails are a tropical snail and dont do well in cold water

Thanks 7itanium. Does anyone know exactly how long it takes for them to hatch? Also I know acidic water rots the shell, but whats the best pH? 7.2 ... higher?
