As the title says.....there is a storm coming and I did a WC yesterday. Now I have eggs! This is the third or fourth spawning of this pair. I have decided to try to hatch some this time as I have never tried before. I took as many out as I could--perhaps 20 or so. I squished some :silly: by accident. I know that some are not viable, but some look fertilized and are a light opaque tannish color.

I removed the eggs by trying to roll the eggs with my finger but had better luck giving them a quick roll to dislodge them and then just gently grasping them enough to place them into a little plastic container that take away soup came in for dinner one night. The container has an airstone in it and is floating at the top of the waters surface. I don't have any methelyne blue so I have put a bit of melafix in the container with them. Most of the eggs are lying at the bottom of the container as I was unable to get them to stick to the sides of the plastic tub. There are some eggs that have become stuck together. I think they should not be touching as this increases the chances for fungal infection.

Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated! I have no idea what I'm doing--just winging it! It'll be fun to try to get them to hatch!!!

AHHHHhhhh!! That would be better I think! I should add that after a wc....in the little container!

Most of the eggs are fungused/not viable. I do see about four good ones though. Now I will try to pick out all the bad eggs and keep the good eggs. Melafix=nothing. :yuck:. I really don't see any benefit to using that again for this purpose. I will use the Hydrogen Peroxide. Any problem with just tossing the eggs into the tank for the other fish to eat? I wouldn't think so but........

You did everything right really. I try not to pull the eggs but move the fish. I know this is impossible for most. Peroxide or old fashioned methlyene are good choices when pulling eggs. As far as letting them eat them I have several breeder groups I dont pull the eggs from anymore and next day there usually gone. For a long time I fed them to my angels free protien.
