For some reason i think cambombas are such a kool plant and are my favorite. I have had cambombas before but my molly demolished all of them and they started to fall apart a bit. They were in a 25 gal tank with a marineland hood and light. I assume that they weren't getting enough light and thus weren't healthy.
My goal in the future (next couple months if i actually get a real summer job) is to start a 25-30 gal cambomba growout tank. I was going to but in green, purple, and furcata cambombas and thinking about having it be a super peaceful shrimp tank and maybe some very peaceful, slow moving, non-plant eating fish.
To my knowledge, cambombas grow best in high light approx 3wpg with co2. Substrate would be a nice thick layer of eco-complete and i would couple the tank with an eheim canister, probably the 2213. From my experience, cambombas dont like too much current so i would have to have the spray bar spray down or something. On top of that, i was thinking of getting another T5 current-usa lamp to achieve the 3 wpg.
If it goes well and things start to grow and i can farm some of them, i can probably sell them to my LFS or the forums as a way to make a lil money.
