How to plant this 10g...

I recently removed a lot of plants from this tank, leaving it with just some Sag and Crypts, which I pushed into a corner..

I'm quite fond of the way it looks now, but I'm really thinking about carpeting all of that open space. Suggestions?

I'm thinking one of a bigger carpeting plants like Hygro kompakt might work better than the smaller ones.. can't really say, I have rather poor visualization.
